We are very happy to welcome Holly Conrad back to SHQ! She shared some of her friends with us at her Monster Tea Party in 2011, and now we are stoked to welcome a whole new group of friendly creatures! There will be drawings, sculptures, and prints for sale and, knowing Holly, lots of surprises in store.
Come join the SHQ crew, Holly, and her freaky buddies for a drink on Friday, March 7th.
We are very excited to announce three new zines that we had the privilege of publishing! All three of these modern masterpieces (f’real) are available at Secret Headquarters, Thank You Comics, and through our online shop.
Mover Shaper/Onus by Connor Willumsen
A beautiful new flip-sketchbook by Canadian artist Connor Willumsen. Trippy urban scenes on one side, inspiring figure drawing on the other. Two zines for the price of one!
Smokin’ Bones: Grim Creeper & The Lust Bunnies by Reginald Péan
Babes. Death. So sick. We’ll have Reginald’s originals on display at Secret Headquarters for the month of February, more details here.
Kid Mafia Digest by Michael DeForge
The digest collects Kid Mafia issues #1 – 3. The original three zines are long sold out and have never been collected. The digest covers are brand new and designed by Michael especially for this volume.
We here at Secret Headquarters are huge fans of Michael DeForge and are honored to be working with him again after publishing his zine, Incinerator, in 2012. Michael is one of the most innovative and talented cartoonists in the world, and we know that you’ll love his work as much as we do.
We know you’ve missed the hilarious gnarliness of Johnny Ryan’s Prison Pit. You must be excited that the new volume is out, right? Well PROVE IT, DUDE. Join Johnny and the SHQ crew on Friday, February 14th to raise a glass (or two) in PP5’s honor.
Reginald Péan was born and raised in Queens. We’ve heard that Reginald sleeps in a coffin. A coffin made of wizard bones. He wears a black hooded bathrobe around town. It’s made of terry cloth. When Reginald goes bowling, it’s with an actual crystal ball. He has an extensive collection of googly-eyed Pink Panthers. All of this sorcery has helped to inform Reginald’s art. His images of black panthers and women along side his delightful Grim Creeper are eerie and humorous.
Secret Headquarters is proud to have Reginald Péan’s wonderfully sinister work on display for the month of February. We will have Smokin’ Bones, a zine collecting Péan’s work, as well as a limited edition patch designed exclusively for SHQ.
Enjoy drinks and possibly a fog machine starting at 7pm. Perhaps Reginald got himself an airplane ticket to join us.
You can check out more of his work here.
