This Week’s Must Reads

Before Watchmen: Silk Spectre #3

With every issue, Silk Spectre quickly rises to the top of my Before Watchmen rankings.

Hawkeye #2

You enjoy superhero comics, but you’re not reading Hawkeye yet? This is a mistake, my friend. You will like it, I promise.

Fashion Beast #1

Not very much happens in the first issue of this new series (based on an Alan Moore script), but it introduces a lot of really interesting characters. I will definitely keep reading.

Sweet Tooth #37

Thief of Thieves #8

Also…
Message To Adolf vol 1

A bit of a rough read (emotionally), but well worth it. Very anxious to read the next installment.

Have a wonderful weekend!

This Week’s Must Reads

The Rocketeer: Cargo Of Doom #1

More Rocketeer, always. Love love Chris Samnee’s art, he was a great choice for this book.

Scalped #60

Satisfying ending to a series that is very near and dear to my heart. I’ll miss reading this book once a month, but I’m please to see the characters that I’ve come to care about over the last 5 years get the send off that they deserve.

America’s Got Powers #3

This series has been well worth the wait between issues. This issue took a bit of a dark turn that I wasn’t expecting, but I’m excited to read more.

Amazing Spider-Man #692

Fun mega-sized Spidey anniversary issue. I particularly like the third story by Joshua Hale Flakov and Nuno Plati; it was hilarious and creative, and I’d love to see them get a full issue.

This Week’s Must Reads

Untold Tales of The Punisher MAX #2

Brutal and disturbing one-shot with very impressive and unique art. Would love to see art this different in more Marvel/DC books.

Before Watchmen: Silk Spectre #2

This series took a turn for the strange that I was not expecting. Really liked this issue. Dig the groovy ’60s cameos, man.

Captain Marvel #1

I’ve been looking forward to this series since it was announced, and I am super happy with the first issue. Always nice to see a badass lady as the title hero on a book.

Star Trek: TNG/Doctor Who: Assimilation2 #3

Ahh, this series! So fun. It scratches all of my nerd itches. (That… sounded more gross than I meant it to.)

Runners-Up: Daredevil #15, Nightwing #11, Catwoman #11, Saga #5, Reset #4, Wonder Woman #11, Fatima: The Blood Spinners #2

Bonusbonusbonus:
Blacksad: A Silent Hell

NEW BLACKSAD! One full length story, plus two shorter stories and a big “making of” process feature. Even though I adored the first volume, I still can’t quite believe how good the art is in this new book. Breathtaking.
